These figs are delicious on their own or served over ice cream such as Vanilla, Mascarpone, or Cardamon. They would also be good over pound cake with whipped cream or, serve them as I have in the picture with baked meringue. Here’s the recipe.
For the figs:
1/2 cup Red Wine
1/4 cup water
2 Tbls honey
2 small sprig fresh lavender
1/2 pound Fresh Figs quartered, stemmed and halved or quartered
In a saucepot, simmer all of the ingredients except for the figs for 15 to 20 minutes or until the mixture is slightly syrupy. Add the fresh figs and cook briefly just until heated through.
